Prismatic Evolutions Premium Figure Collection pop report: the promos that shipped together
Two promo cards ship inside every Prismatic Evolutions Premium Figure Collection, and PSA grades them almost identically. At the September 20, 2026 pull the Prismatic Evolutions Premium Figure Collection pop report puts Umbreon ex #176, the etched foil promo in the SV Black Star Promo set, at 15,165 Gem Mint 10s from 26,377 submissions, a 57.5 percent gem rate. Espeon ex #175, the card packed beside it, holds 12,434 tens from 20,642 submissions and gems 60.24 percent. Those are the two best gem rates of any SV Black Star Promo row past 20,000 grades, and 2.74 points is the whole distance between them.
Almost nothing in this census came back damaged
26,377 graded. 15,165 tens, 9,892 nines, 1,009 eights, 1 Authentic and 310 copies at a PSA 7 or lower. PSA added 1,883 more in the last reporting period, against a 30 day trend of -15%.
The last of those is where this census turns strange. 1.18 percent of every copy ever submitted landed below an 8, and Espeon runs thinner still at 159 copies out of 20,642, 0.77 percent at the same pull. Whatever decides a 10 against a 9 here, handling damage is not it, because there is almost none of it in the census to find.
Widen the frame to the whole set and the matching stops. Prismatic Evolutions put four cards into the SV Black Star Promo numbering block, and at this pull they run from 23.68 percent on the Eevee ex #174 out of the Super-Premium Collection, through 37.34 on the Eevee #173 from the Elite Trainer Box, up to the pair here. Four promos, 36.56 points of range. The two that match are the two that shared a box.
The pairs that travelled in one carton land together
The Pokemon Company's product page for the collection, read October 4, 2026, lists the contents without ambiguity: one etched foil promo featuring Espeon ex, one etched foil promo featuring Umbreon ex, one figure, one pin, 65 card sleeves, 11 Prismatic Evolutions booster packs and a code card. No pack odds, no box variants, no choice at the till. Buy the product and both cards come out of one box.
Group every English Black Star Promo row past 20,000 grades by the product it shipped under, and exactly four labels hold two such rows. The 151 Ultra-Premium Collection pair sits 2.54 points apart. This pair sits at 2.74. The Mega Charizard X EX Ultra-Premium Collection pair sits at 4.75. The fourth is the Shrouded Fable Special Illustration Collection, at 12.00.
Three tight, one wide, and the wide one is the only pair whose cards never shared a box. Kingdra ex and Greninja ex went out in separate products on the same shelf, while the Mew ex and the Mewtwo rode together, the Oricorio ex and the Mega Charizard X ex did too, and so do these two. Four products is not a study. It does suggest the carton is doing some of the work, since a pair that ships in one box shares a packing line, a pallet and a shelf life, and a pair split across two products shares none of that.
The one place the two cards do pull apart
Set the faces beside each other and nearly everything matches. Both read Illus. 5ban Graphics in the bottom left, both carry an H regulation mark and a 2025 copyright, both are Stage 1 Stellar Tera ex cards, and both sit on the same prismatic crystal field inside a thin rainbow gradient border. Espeon ex has 270 HP and opens with Psych Out, Umbreon ex has 280 and opens with Moon Mirage. The subject is the variable. One is pale pink on a pale field. The other is near black on it.
Pool the eights with everything below them and Espeon finishes at 3.50 percent of its census against Umbreon's 5.00, a ratio of 1.43. The Shrouded Fable pair ran that same comparison at 1.61, dark card worse, and that post laid the suspicion on a dark field showing a hairline that a pale one swallows.
So the direction repeats on a tighter control. The size does not. Twelve points of gem rate there against 2.74 here, with the same explanation available in both places and no way to choose between them from a count. Grades point; they do not testify about the copy in your sleeve.
Both of these improved while most censuses got worse
Difference the August 13, 2026 pull against this one and PSA returned 2,416 more Umbreons, 62.83 percent of them tens, against a lifetime 57.5. Espeon returned 1,808 at 62.39 percent against 60.24. GemRate's own trailing 30 day gem rate, read off the September 16, 2026 snapshot, puts both cards at 63.0.
Going up is the unusual move. Run that difference across every English row past 20,000 grades that added at least 300 cards in the window and 102 of 122 came in under their own lifetime rate, the median giving up 8.49 points. Inside this product family the drop was steeper still: of the 15 SV Black Star Promo rows past 20,000 grades, 12 fell, and the median gave up 15.87.
Age trims the claim, though, and it should. Restrict those 122 rows to cards dated 2024 or later and the median is down only 0.99 points, with 20 of the 40 positive. Umbreon ranks eighth in that group and Espeon around thirteenth. Both are holding rather than climbing.
Why the broad field fell is a question the data declines to answer. A slowing queue looked like the candidate, since fewer submissions might mean fussier submitters, and across those 122 rows the 30 day trend correlates with the window move at 0.08, which is noise. Card age does little better at 0.16 the other way, with the worst bucket landing in the 2020 to 2023 middle rather than at either end.
Six tens in ten, and the submission still loses
| Grading math | Amount |
|---|---|
| Raw copy (as of October 4, 2026) | $34 |
| PSA grading, Standard service | $60 |
| PSA 10 sale (as of October 4, 2026, PriceCharting sold medians) | $137 |
| PSA 9 sale (as of October 4, 2026, PriceCharting sold medians) | $45 |
| Margin if it gems | +$43 |
| Margin at PSA 9 | -$49 |
PSA's Standard tier costs $59.99 for a $1,000 maximum insured value and an estimated 90 to 100 business days, read off psacard.com/pricing on October 4, 2026, with the Value services still paused. On a $33.63 raw Umbreon that is $93.62 committed before anything moves.
Gross margin on a hit is not the number that settles this. eBay takes roughly 15 percent of a slab sale once fees and shipping land, which turns a $137.00 PSA 10 median, taken across 29 titled sales to October 1, 2026, into $116.45, and a $44.95 PSA 9 median across 29 sales to September 29 into $38.21. At those payouts the gem rate that breaks even is 70.8 percent, against a lifetime 57.5 and a trailing 62.83. Weight them by the shape of the census and the submission hands back about $82.83 on $93.62, so roughly eleven cents in the dollar go missing in the queue.
Run the same line on the Espeon and the answer turns absurd. A raw copy cleared a $22.45 median and a PSA 10 cleared $93.00 across 29 sales to September 29, 2026. Net of the same 15 percent, that ten pays $79.05 against $82.44 of cost. The best gem rate of any SV Black Star Promo past 20,000 grades, and a guaranteed Gem Mint comes back three dollars and change short of what it took to get there.
What to do with the two out of your box
Neither card belongs in a submission queue at these prices, which is a strange thing to say about a promo that gems six times in ten. The gem rate is not the problem and will not become one; it already sits near the ceiling for a modern card, and the market priced that in long ago. Sell them raw, or leave them in the sleeves the box supplied and watch the PSA 10 median instead, since that is the only number here with room to move.
